Dorcas Ministries provides crisis relief to area residents who seek stability and self-sufficiency through food and financial assistance, scholarships, training programs, referrals and an affordable thrift shop. Dorcas focus area is Cary and Morrisville.
NC Disability
NC Disability Determination Services (DDS) is a North Carolina Government Agency that is funded by the federal government’s Social Security Administration. DDS is part of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation in the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.

NC Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services provides counseling, training, education, transportation, job placement, assistive technology and other support services. These services are provided to people with physical, psychiatric or intellectual disabilities and to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing or have other communicative disorders to assist them with living independently and with finding a job and staying on the job.
NC Health Human
NC Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) is a federal food assistance program that helps low-income families. In North Carolina monthly allotments of FNS benefits are issued via Electronic Benefit Transfer cards (EBT cards). The purpose of Food and Nutrition Services is to end hunger and improve nutrition and health. It helps eligible low-income households buy the food they need for a nutritionally adequate diet.

Alliance Behavioral Health
Alliance Behavioral Healthcare manages the public mental health, intellectual/ developmental disability and substance abuse services for the citizens of Durham, Wake, Cumberland and Johnston counties. Although Alliance does not actually provide services, it ensures that individuals who seek help receive the quality services and supports they are eligible for to help them achieve their goals and live as independently as possible. These services are delivered by a network of private providers who contract with Alliance.

NAMI North Carolina, part of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that promotes recovery and optimizes the quality of life for those affected by mental illness. NAMI focuses specifically upon those mental illnesses that are brain disorders, serious illnesses that can affect a person’s ability to think, feel and relate to other people and the environment.

NC Center for Nonprofits’ mission is to enrich North Carolina’s communities and economy through a strong nonprofit sector and nonprofit voice. The Center serves as an information center on effective practices in nonprofit organizations, a statewide network for nonprofit board and staff members and an advocate for the nonprofit sector as a whole.
